Privacy
This page explains what the Guided Car Capture app and this website collect, why, and how to delete it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

What the app collects and why

Your location is used on your phone only, to plan the sun's position, and is not sent to us. The plates on the car are blurred automatically in the processed photos. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising or tracking.
Who processes it for us
We use service providers to store and process data on our behalf, under data processing agreements: [hosting and storage providers, regions], and Anthropic (Claude) to process photos for vehicle understanding. [If a VIN decoding provider is enabled: name, purpose.] Data is stored in the EU where our providers offer it: [regions].
The website
This site uses no cookies and no analytics trackers.
Beta waiting list. We store your email, whether you are a private seller or a dealer, and when you agreed to be emailed. We use them only to invite you to the beta (by TestFlight) and to tell you about the launch. You can unsubscribe from any email or ask us to delete your details. We delete the list [when the beta ends / retention period].
Contact form. We store your name, email and message so that we can reply, and keep them for [retention period]. Messages are forwarded to our inbox by email.
The website, the waiting list and the contact messages are hosted by Cloudflare [region / data location], under a data processing agreement.
Your rights
You can delete your data at any time in the app: Settings, then Delete my data. This removes your scans and photos from your phone and from our servers. You can also ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing: email privacy@guidedcarcapture.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Legal basis
We process app data to provide the service you asked for (contract), crash data for our legitimate interest in a working app, the beta waiting list with your consent, and contact messages to answer you (your request).
Changes
We'll update this page when the app changes how it uses data, and change the date at the top.
